Where to start

  1. Write it all down. The Debt Tracker puts every balance, rate and minimum payment on one page. Most people have never seen the whole list at once, and that alone changes things.
  2. Pick an order. The Snowball Worksheet goes smallest balance first for quick wins; the Avalanche Worksheet goes highest rate first to pay the least interest. Either beats no order at all.
  3. Make it visible. The Thermometer or the Debt-Free Chart goes where you will see it every day. Coloring in a square is a small reward that keeps the plan alive between paydays.
  4. Keep a record. The Payment Log or the Payoff Matrix turns a year of payments into proof, one crossed-off cell at a time.
  • Print at 100 percent, not "fit to page". The rows are sized for handwriting.
  • Choose US Letter or A4 to match your paper; the layout is identical.
  • The ink saver version drops the color for a black and gray sheet that costs almost nothing to print and still photocopies cleanly.
  • The Payoff Matrix is landscape; pick landscape in the print dialog or it will shrink.
