Reminders are the purpose of a push notification. It's just a note on your phone the day a payment is due, without opening the site. Here is exactly what can be sent and how to switch it on.
What gets sent
- Debt payment reminders. A payment on one of your debt accounts is coming due.
- Bill reminders. A bill in the bill tracker is coming due.
That is the whole list. Undebt.it does not send marketing pushes, and it never sends anything about balances or amounts you have not asked to be reminded about.
Turning them on
- Open My Account and go to Options, then go down to the Notification Settings.
- Switch on push reminders. Your browser or phone will ask permission; you have to allow it. If you don't see a section for push notifications, your browser or device does not support it.
- Choose which accounts and bills should remind you, and how far ahead.
Reminders are also available by text message and email. Push is usually the easiest, since there is nothing to pay for and no phone number to give.
On an iPhone or iPad
Apple only allows web push to an installed app. Add Undebt.it to your home screen first, open it from that icon, and then allow notifications when asked. iOS 16.4 or newer is required. See How do I install Undebt.it as an app on my phone?
Permission is per device
Allowing notifications on your phone does not enable them on your laptop, and vice versa. Turn them on wherever you want to be reminded. If you said no by accident, the site cannot ask again: clear the notification permission for undebt.it in your browser or phone settings, then switch it on here once more.
Turning them off
Switch push off under Notification Settings and nothing more is sent. You can also silence them from your phone's own notification settings, which leaves your Undebt.it settings untouched in case you want them back.
