June 2016 Feature Updates
Here’s a quick update on some of the new features that have been recently added to the site.
Debt Dashboard
This first one is a pretty cool feature that I’ve been wanting to do for a while now – integrate the bill management module with the Debt Dashboard payment calendar. Bills and debts have different colors so they’re easy to differentiate. Right now, the only bills that will show are the same ones that show up on the bill dashboard page. In the future, I would like to set it up so the bill repeating feature is used (you’d see an AT&T bill due on the 4th of every month for example).
Debt Snowball Calculator
The next update that I have is a new section on the debt snowball calculator that shows a summary that compares your new payment plan to paying nothing extra (only the minimum due). You can the projected debt free date for both payment plans along with the account details at the bottom. I’m planning on adding a debt analysis page on the main site that shows this along with some other summary information in the near future.
Miscellaneous
A small addition to the My Debt Accounts section on the left sidebar let’s you quickly add new debt accounts by clicking on the link. The same link is on the My Bill Accounts section too. |
You might also be interested in the Undebt.it user guide. It has screenshots, tips and detailed instructions on how to use the site. I did a big update to it last month and it can be found in a link on the page footer. |
FAQ and Help Center
The FAQ page has been completely redesigned and renamed the FAQ and Help Center. There was a separate help page before, but I decided to combine the two and add more content. There are now different sections to help categorize the different questions. There is also a link to the most current version of the user guide. I’m going to be updating the page more frequently as questions come in, so be sure to keep them coming – I answer them all.
My Account
The last two updates are located in the My Account section. For Undebt.it+ members, there’s an option to have a monthly statement of your accounts automatically e-mailed to you. It shows your current payments for month, what’s still due for month and the payment plan for next month. Now, there’s now a button where you can send the e-mail anytime you like.
Another new feature in the My Account section is an option called “Auto Budget Adjustment”. Budget adjustment is something I added last month to make it easier for the newer members to use the site. Basically, anytime you add a debt that makes your monthly budget too small, Undebt.it will automatically increase your monthly budget to accommodate the increase. This works fine for most people, but there are a few cases where a user may not want to have this happen. For example, let’s say you have a loan that you won’t be paying down temporarily.
